Yeah, yeah.. I'm back
- Posted by Rob (#1) on September 14, 2006 16:11 CEST
Don't worry about the silence here. I returned from Africa just fine last Friday, but I've been a bit busy/tired/lazy/occupied so I did not find nor make time to post a trip summary, catch up on correspondence and so on. This weekend, or else most definitely next week, I promise.

29 Tomorrow
- Posted by Rob (#1) on July 22, 2006 22:44 CEST
When I wake up tomorrow, I'll be 29.
Yet I won't be in London, Sweden, Frankfurt, San Francisco or any other fun place: I'm not travelling. I'm also not throwing a party, won't be opening any birthday cards, haven't invited people over, won't answer to any phone calls, won't reply to any text messages, won't collect free drinks at the pub, won't write about "things I want to do before I'm 30".. I just can't be bothered.
I might however bother to remove from my addressbook anyone who attempts to congratulate me. Just because I didn't leave the country doesn't mean I didn't want to escape.

A tiny bit of fame
- Posted by Rob (#1) on July 18, 2006 00:29 CEST
In December 2004, ironically the month I took a break from the Internet, Atlantik made Wikipedia. Check out the current Atlantik article on Wikipedia. I actually have been in LinuxMagazine once or twice, plus a few other magazines, so I suppose Atlantik meets the notability requirements?

Physical health
- Posted by Rob (#1) on April 21, 2006 16:12 CEST
For the past two weeks I've been coughing like a seal. It's no longer as bas as it used to be, but still too much and my chest still hurts occasionally from over-stretching my ribs. Lots of green/yellow (read: infected) mucus as well and it feels like breathing isn't as light a task as it should be anymore. I should visit a doctor.
In fact, I bloody well should visit a doctor, soon. This all (plus my inability to gain weight) sounds a lot like cystic fibrosis which only happens to be the most common fatal autosomal recessive disease in Caucasians. The median lifespan of victims to the disease is a mere 37. Funny, always figured I wouldn't live to see thirty.
I should visit a doctor.
17:15 update: apparently cystic fibrosis is usually diagnosed in the first few years of life, so I'm putting my hopes on H5N1, sinusitis or longue cancer now.

Cheap Thrills video on-line
- Posted by Rob (#1) on April 5, 2006 09:45 CEST
The video is on-line! The first attempt at filming the live parted went horrible, but I went to Haarlem a few weeks ago for the actual recording, with Din. The presentation of the video in Leiden was a bit of a disappointment because the planned gig was not going through and (other than the video) there wasn't much to do at LVC. But it's here now, and it rocks:
(Hey. I would swear some of those people in the crowd look very familiar.)
