Valentines Oops
- Posted by Rob (#1) on February 14, 2007 09:49 CET
If you were surprised to see Inge featured in today's special Valentines style.. don't worry, so was I. Oops.
Note to self: next time check on the 13th ('s birthday, hi pet!) that whomever features in the header picture(s) is indeed a current love/crush or at least a potential one. And certainly not an ex.
Not-so-quick update
- Posted by Rob (#1) on January 25, 2007 02:14 CET
As announced, it's been a while. Hello!
I just got back from London. Work sent me there for a quick business trip lasting two days (originally one) and despite the delayed flight and exhausting security queue at Gatwick airport, I had a good time. The exhibition was mostly useful even though some gaps in our exploration for leads remain.
Highlight of the trip however would be my lunch date with Laura. Rumours exist that if all goes well and beyond work will open a R&D shop in London in a year or two, she's one good reason to relocate there if that happens. I hate to rain down on any parades but on the other hand, despite radio silence, Inge remains a reason not to. There's no chance nor plausibility to get back with her but I still do miss her.
Anyway, the weekend of the 13th I was in Tel Aviv for another business trip and even though most of my trips go to England and Scandinavia I have to concede one thing. There's a big fun factor in drinking coffee at the beach in a t-shirt in January while doing some brainstorming, and then calling it work. Also, nice Ed Hardy store over there so I expanded my wardrobe and shoe collection a bit. Jerusalem was fun as well. It kind of confirmed my suspicion that religion is for the dim-witted, but regardless it was an experience unlike any other.
Having covered the present and past, a small update on the future now. I'll work tomorrow (read: later today) and then will be off to Austria for a week of skiing. There's a chance I'll have to take a day off from my holiday to do some business with a bookmaker in Graz or Zell am See, but it should still be fun to have a classic and traditional week in the mountains with dad.
So yeah.. life's still busy here. I'm glad it is! :-)

Love
- Posted by Rob (#1) on January 3, 2007 04:57 CET
What's a guy supposed to do when...
- he's still totally in love with his ex,
- who's already been on the rebound (okay, so have I been),
- who has a new crush/love/boyfriend
I'll be the first to admit that I'm not an easy boyfriend and I'm the first to admit that things didn't really work out. But damnit, I don't fall in love easily and it was the first time in at least two years that I did and the first time in over five years that I believed in it. But it's over, done with, gone, the past, nada, a waste of time and effort...
She's gone.
Which doesn't mean there's no one else I fancy. Not at all. But still.. I was in love and I still am. And even though the most subtile thing she could say was "I feel bad for you".. I feel bad about it.
I honestly again do pray I will never ever fall in love again. Flings are cool but whenever I start to love someone I end up being heartbroken. I'm drunk and it's hopeless so don't remember this post unless it makes an impression.. but Inge, I still love you.
Sup?

It's hard to find time to update a journal when you spend every single minute on parties (nice soul/hiphop gig last night), sleep and work (live TV production for TMF, fun). Unfortunately in opposite order: weekend starts at Sunday afternoon over here.
It's okay though.. these busy weekends at least make sure I barely have time to miss Inge as much as I would if I'd have the time to think about her.
Bratislava after all?
- Posted by Rob (#1) on November 6, 2006 17:42 CET
Work didn't send me to the former Commie states last week because they wanted to attempt an installation themselves first, but apparently they failed and have booked me a ticket to the Czech Republic (or Slovakian?) for Friday. No one here knew about it though, so all the nice plans I made for Dorith and Inge as well as the Bullet For My Valentine gig are being jeopardised.
I still hope I'll be back on Saturday for all that fun but for now my agenda looks like a big questionmark. Hurray. (Not!)

Back from Lowlands
- Posted by Rob (#1) on August 22, 2006 22:43 CEST
I'm back from Lowlands. I even already worked a full day and am now busy uploading all the pictures. I'll write a full report later but to summarise: I loved the people. gigs, food, pot and drinks. But I love Inge the most. :)
Personal quickies
- Posted by Rob (#1) on July 4, 2006 19:53 CEST
A few personal quickies:
1. I dreamed of Inge last night. I do not remember the context nor any gory details, but I do remember that at some point the dream involved holding hands.
2. Tomorrow morning I'm having a malaria vaccination. It's 99% sure now that work will send me to Uganda at the end of the month which might possible be my first birthday in Africa.
3. My friends are hot. (Okay we already knew that, I'm just pimping the new and improved profile pages.)

Holland 1 - Serbia and Montenegro 0

Yay for Holland! I went to Eindhoven today. Rail works made the travel parts of the trip somewhat annoying as I had to take a detour over Utrecht which almost double the Rotterdam-Eindhoven journey, but other than that I had a wonderful time watching the Holland game with Inge. Both dressed in regular black, but check my photography for some of the orange silliness currently affecting this country.

Copenhagen update
- Posted by Rob (#1) on May 21, 2006 22:25 CEST
Hej hej! Copenhagen was fun! My trip started a bit unpleasant though. I woke up with a hangover and then had to rush to catch a flight, of an airliner who announces a two-hour delay immediately after boarding.
But around noon I had found my way to Copenhagen and started on a shopping spree. I had not brought any clothes other than the ones I was wearing. But I like shopping in foreign cities so that was not entirely unintentional. A few hours later I was carrying new boxers, socks, jeans, a shirt and shoes. I changed into them (all but boxers) at a quiet part of Christiania and went back into town for pizza at Deep Pan Pizza Company, one of my favourite restaurants in Copenhagen. The cheese in their deep dish melts all around and is sizzling in the pan when served, while creating a funky off-beat Danish taste.
Later in the evening I met up with Kirsten and after another beer we dropped my stuff at her flat and then went back to Christiania to meet up with Andre and for the Pinboys gig, of course. Loppen is a nice venue, where I discovered Frisk is an interesting vodka with Fisherman's Friend shooter. We then got drunk some more and I went back in the pit to mosh during Pinboys. Caught the drumstick, chatted with the band members a bit, bought two t-shirts, got some free pins and then finally went to Kirsten's flat again for some well-deserved sleep after a punk rock show.
Saturday Kirsten and I had salad lunch at Hard Rock Cafe, shopped some more (new boxers for me, I liked the Smog models on sale) and went home with Andre and Fren to get drunk and watch the Eurovision. We were all routing for Lordi, the Finnish metal band performing Hardrock Hallelujah. Obviously we all voted for them with our phones and rejoiced in their victory. Then we got very, very stoned and stayed up until way too late after laughing our asses off.
No hangover this morning though, I had a great nightrest! Had a quick lunch after reading my first three (and last three) pages of Harry Potter ever and sent postcards to Din and (sorry Inge, your address wasn't on my phone and I only had like twenty minutes at the train station including lunch and buying stamps). And then I flew home so I could write this down.

Options, options

If I did not intent to get back with Inge, if I did not fancy Din, if I did not have a friendly date with Kirsten, if I did not pass a note for a mate.. If only life were as such, I would've asked the Swedish girl with bf out tonight. Hot. Hot. Hot!
