I (still) don't understand terrorists

I realise I'm three months late with this post, but I have to ask:
Why did the 7/7 bombers go through all the effort to attack London? Why go through months of planning to attack the Tube with bombs in order to get 72 unexperienced virgins? Why, when anyone who spends a few months in London could easily get at least 72 of the most experienced sluts on earth?
