Why I love (and hate) London
Urbanity

It's time to explain my special love/hate relationship with London. I love the city because:
- Shoes and clothes are much cheaper and Londoners are much more fashionable than people here in Holland.
- English crisps and sandwiches are the best. Seriously, British cuisine kick ass.
- The gig culture in the UK is ten times bigger and better than anywhere else.
- People know how to queue. And they don't stand in the way on escalators either.
But I kind of hate London as well:
- Most of my mates there actually live outside of London, so whenever they are working, broke, ill or grounded I don't get to see them. I'm not sure why I blame this on London but it sucks.
- I just got another call from London for work. Figures that everything goes well the week I'm not on-call but as soon as I'm back on the job, it's midnight office pleasure for me again.
So I suppose I mostly like London for the 8 million people I don't know, including the ones serving me at pubs and the local Tesco. And not so much for the people I actually know as mates or from work. Still wish I was there with them now, though.
